POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position:Capacity Building for Prosperity at Catalyst Miami
Join a dynamic team at a critical civic hub organization in an exciting global gateway city. Serve communities and nonprofit organizations in the Miami area through the Americorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) program, a national effort to address poverty through capacity building. Catalyst Miami is recruiting 3 VISTAs starting in July of 2013 and will have 12 positions at our partnering organizations in the fall of 2012. Catalyst Miami VISTA members do not provide direct service, but enhance organizations through capacity building activities in areas of fund raising, communications and marketing, organizational efficiency, program development and volunteer management.
Through the AmeriCorps program, VISTA members receive a little over $800 for a monthly living allowance, $5,550 Education Award or $1,500 stipend following completion of service, health coverage, life insurance and up to $300 per month per family child care if eligible. Catalyst Miami also provides some support to VISTA members for housing, travel and/or phone. Please note that VISTA members cannot hold employment or receive other compensation for the entire year of their service and that the opportunity is a year-long, full time commitment of service.
