Family Leadership & Training Institute

A unique learning experience for adults, youth and Children that enhances their skills and confidence to become effective child advocates. There our three components that comprise our institute:

  • Parent & Child Leadership Training Institute (PLTI & CLTI): PLTI is an initiative created to improve the lifelong health, safety and learning of Miami-Dade County's children by helping you learn the leadership skills to make real change -- in schools, communities and state and local governments. Through PLTI's unique adult learning experience, you explore your passions, strengths, beliefs and ideas. Then, you work to develop interpersonal and public communications skills, as well as your understanding of government, media and civic relations.   Read more...
  • Youth Leadership Training Institute (YLTI or Soundout):  The "Soundout" Youth Action Curriculum is a free, 22 week evening leadership training program. Soundout is designed for students aged 13-18. Participants explore issues related to community involvement, education and school improvement. "Soundout" also includes practical instruction that aims to enhance student leadership, project design and development skills, and empowering youth issues and concerns within communities. Advocacy Corps Training (ACT): Interactive, fun workshops targeting policy education and advocacy skills building to inspire civic participation.  Workshops are tailored to meet group needs. Nonprofit Leadership Training Institute - NLTI: designed to increase sector involvement in advocacy and social action for community and civic change, the institute strives to stimulate a more collaborative, deliberate, and accountable third sector. Through Catalyst Consultants Collaborative capacity-building Workshops, Democracy Summer "train the trainer" advocacy workshops, Community Learning volunteer and intern placement, and a number of other initiatives, NLTI will work to improve non-profit practice in South Florida.
 
Public Allies: A national AmeriCorps program providing leadership development and apprenticeships with local nonprofits and public agencies. Read more...

Miami Thrives Network: This work includes building a large network of organizations, choosing an issue areaand concrete policies to engage in institutional change, and work in close partnership with local academic institutions like the University of Miami's program in Community & Social change to collect data and resources on best practices of coalition building and anti-poverty initiatives.  Read more..

HealthConnect: Catalyst Miami, through its Prosperity Campaign is charged with delivering the Health Connect in Our Communities (HCiOC ) program to the following public schools.
