What is Imagine Miami?
We're a networking group ... a movement for change ... and an initiative of Catalyst Miami. We're a bunch of folks who'd rather DO something than sit on our hands complaining about the current state of Miami-Dade (and the rest of the world). We are positive people, believing in possibilities and undeterred by challenges.
Imagine Miami is your source for inspiration and hope and good ideas. We think that community involvement and civic engagement should be fun. We know that folks are already doing great things for our communities, and we want everyone to know about these efforts! You are no longer alone ...
What are Imagine Miami Changemaker Conferences?
Based on the success of our Summit on Arts, Culture & Civic Engagement (in 2008), we launched a three-year series of "Changemaker Conferences," with each gathering building upon the previous gathering. For information on our upcoming conferences click here.
What is the Purpose of Imagine Miami?
Imagine Miami is a community effort to connect people, organizations and businesses that want to improve quality of life in Miami-Dade. We also connect people to ideas and tools for action, and build hope with true stories of people who are making a difference.
We want to create a Tipping Point by connecting all the people who are passionate about making Miami-Dade a better place to live, and want to work with others to make it happen. We envision commuinties that are more just, inclusive, sustainable and collaborative.
Is Imagine Miami exclusive?
No, we encourage participation in multiple networking groups and social organizations. We need to encourage all kinds of networking here in Miami-Dade!
Do I have to pay to join?
Although there is no fee to be a member, some of our workshops and events have costs associated with them. Check the calendar for event details. Since we are part of a non-profit, we do greatly appreciate donations!
Do I have to live in Miami-Dade, FL to be a member?
No, but since we are heavily focused on improving the Miami-Dade/South Florida area, it would make sense if you had some sort of ties to this area.
