Children’s Leadership Training Institute

Children’s Leadership Training Institute (CLTI) is a 22-week leadership development training that helps children, grades K-5, learn the leadership skills needed to become effective advocates in their community. Participants will experience a multiple intelligence-based curriculum designed to develop young leaders. Enrollment in this program is contingent on having an adult (parent or guardian) enrolled in PLTI.

CLEAR Miami Youth (Community Leadership on the Environment, Advocacy, and Resilience)

CLEAR Miami Youth is a 12-week climate education and resilience training that helps children learn about basic climate science, effects of climate change, and solutions for vulnerable communities. Enrollment in this program is contingent on having an adult (parent or guardian) enrolled in CLEAR Miami.

Public Allies Miami

Public Allies Miami is a 10-month, paid AmeriCorps apprenticeship that engages young adults with passion for social justice and leadership skills. Allies are placed in local nonprofit organizations where they are able to gain professional experience that builds their career path, while advancing the organization’s capacity to further its mission.

Parent Leadership Training Institute (PLTI)

Parent Leadership Training Institute (PLTI) is a 22-week leadership development training that helps parents and child advocates learn the leadership skills needed to become effective advocates for children in schools, communities, and state and local governments.

Participants are able to enroll their children, grades K-5, in our Children’s Leadership Training Institute (CLTI), which runs parallel to PLTI. Children will experience a multiple intelligence-based curriculum designed to develop young leaders.

Step Up Miami

 Step Up Miami is a 12-week, intensive leadership development program that aims to generate a critical mass of neighborhood leaders interested in addressing poverty in Miami-Dade. The program guides participants through an examination of current best practices in community development, the sharing of personal experiences, an exploration of diverse community development approaches and hands on application of problem solving strategies.

People Empowering People (PEP)

 People Empowering People is a 10-week individual and family leadership development program with a strong community focus. Created by Cheryl Czuba, UConn Extension Educator, the PEP program builds upon individual life experiences and strengths to encourage growth in communication and problem solving skills, parent/family relationships and community involvement.
